Mark Sutton

Lead Designer
Mark Sutton is the Artistic Director for Learning and Development at Second City Works. An experienced performer and teacher, Mark has spent the last decade traveling the world and bringing the skills and mindset of improvisation into the workplace. His diverse client base includes Thomson Reuters, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, and Major League Baseball. From the C Suite to new hires, Mark has shown people how to become more compelling, empathetic and connected communicators and storytellers through the power of improvisation.

Becca Barish

Instructor
Becca Barish has a passion for teaching improvisation, both as an art form, and as an effective professional and therapeutic intervention. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, Becca has worked to apply improv in clinical and business settings through her work with the Improv for Anxiety program and as a facilitator for Second City Works. She is also a faculty member for the A-E improv program. Performing credits include Whirled News Tonight, Armando Diaz Experience, and Casual Encounters at the iO theater, as well as Yes Diggity at the Playground.

Marla Caceres

Instructor
Marla Caceres has been performing and teaching improv and sketch comedy since 2001. As a facilitator, Marla has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, and as a regular instructor for both Kellogg and Booth schools of business. She is part of the faculty at the Second Training Center and the iO Theatre. As an actor, Marla has performed in Second City reviews in Miami and San Diego, as well aboard the NCL cruise ships Dawn and Spirit. Through Second City Works, Marla has performed improv and sketch comedy for corporate audiences around the country. A fluent, native Spanish speaker, Marla has also hosted in Spanish, and appeared in several industrial films, web videos, and commercials in both languages.

Tyler Dean Kempf

Instructor
Tyler Dean Kempf was born and raised in Northern California. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno, he moved to Chicago to study at The Second City and has graduated from the Training Center’s Conservatory, Writing and Directing programs. In addition to teaching for The Second City Training Center and working for Second City Works, he is an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago where he teaches in the Comedy Studies program as well as the Television Department.

Christy Bruce

Christy Bruce began her career improvising at The Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary where she studied with Keith Johnstone. In 2000, she moved to Toronto was hired by “The Second City”. She has been performing with them for over 15 years now doing shows across the county and as far away as Bosnia and Monaco. For the last four years, she has been playing the role of “Mimi” in Rebecca Northan’s Blind Date across Canada and in London’s West End. Other Select Theatre: Legend Has It (ATP), DINK! (The Factory Theatre), This is Cancer (Halifax), The Forum (Stratford Festival), and “Private Lives” with Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross (New York). TV credits: Reign, Newborn Moms for CBC, The Strain, Orphan Black, The Odd Squad, The Day the Old Man Knocked, Long Story Short: CBC’s 75 Anniversary, and Little Mosque on the Prairie. Christy can also be found performing and teaching at The Bad Dog Theatre in Toronto, Ontario..​

Kevin Frank

Instructor
Kevin began his career studying improv comedy in 1984 with the Second City in Toronto. He left his sales position with a major Computer company to perform with the Second City on the main stage at the Old Firehall. He joined the faculty as a teacher in 1988 and for the past 9 years he has served as the Artistic Director of the Second City Training Centre. Kevin loves teaching improv to today’s new hopefuls. The Training Centre averages 1,100 students a week studying everything from Improv to public speaking. The Education program welcomes GTA schools to the centre for Ministry of Education focussed Improv workshops. 10,000 school kids experience the magic of Improv first hand annually. Kevin Frank is also a Senior faculty member with the Second City Works division. He delivers corporate workshops to Fortune 500 companies throughout North America.
Kevin has also been an actor/writer/musician for the last 30 years. During this time, he has performed in over 60 television commercials and has had countless appearances on popular series television. Kevin hosted the popular children’s game show Kidstreet for five years (350 episodes) and co-starred with Walter Matthau and Carol Burnett in the Marriage Fool. He enjoyed success as the host of Animal Planets’s Pet Project, which received 4 Gemini nominations, including Best Host in a Lifestyle & Information Program. He can also be heard as many of the voices in the Thomas the Tank Engine 1st feature movie.
